When To Come
The best time to come to the Adirondacks is whenever you feel like it. The busiest tourist season is mid-July to mid-August, but is quite busy from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. In the winter, the ski towns are busiest during the holidays, on weekends, and depending on snow conditions, other times as well.

The weather in the Adirondacks varies by location and altitude, but is pleasantly warm to hot from the end of May through mid-September. Winters can be cold with seasonal low temperatures reaching -40° Fehrenheit, actual.

There are numerous private and municipal airports throughout the Adirondacks, as well as some subsidised commuter services, but the majority of people use Albany International Airport, and use I-87 (The Northway) to access points north.
